Hi all
Can anyone help me on this matter.
Would it be OK to connect both my Zumo and Autocom to the auxiliary socket on my 07 1200GS ? I already have the Zumo connected to it. cheers:)

Thanks for that. Never looked at it like that but makes sense it was made to take higher loads:thumb2

I did that and the aux socket kept cutting the power. This might be because the Zumo can take a bit more power to recharge it's batteries and therefore the CANBUS detected too much ampage and cut the power or it could be that the GS battery is a bit of a weak link and the voltage dropped enough for the CANBUS/ECU to cut the power to the auxilary socket. Eventually I gave up and just powered the zumo straight from the battery, this is quite convenient as the power is there as soon as I put the zumo in the cradle so by the time I've cranked up the zumo is ready to go.

BTW I have the latest s/w upgrades on the GS12 so I figured either the battery is a bit weak (most likely) or the zumo can draw too much current (unlikely as it comes with a 2Amp fuse).

Bonnie...I'm with JayGee. I power my Zumo direct to battery. As for the AutoCom, I have a "tankbag" system to easily move between bikes. Here my AutoCom powers via a DIN connector into the socket on my Touratech dash panel. That panel's socket is also wired direct to battery. Never had any problems.

Check over in the Bike Communications section - there are several threads in there about what the best way of attaching devices to the 1200 wiring. You'll want a switched feed as some people have found that some GPS cradles drain power, even without a device plugged in, so connecting straight to the battery might be a bad idea. Either way, there won't be any problems with the power drain, those two devices together won't be taking too much of a load from the circuit.

GPS wiring.

Me too, but without the Autocom :(

It powers up fine on the 650gs but when I put it on the 1200 it kept loosing the auxilery power 'IE the Can-bus system kept cutting off the power to the socket'

I'm going to add a socket up front that is powered direct from the battery (I'll also add an inline switch that disconects it)
