Wanting to fit an autocom duo to big bike number 2 ('03 ZZR1200) and was wondering if anyone knew where I could easily pick up a switched live from underneath the seat area. A friend has suggested picking one up from the rear lights owing to the fact that I always ride with my light on anyway. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to correct cable ID etc Cheers:thedummy

autocom - kwaka

I had an autocom system in my ZZR1100, and hooked it up directly from the battery, with inline fuses.. Never had any problems in six years.. had all the bits n bobs in a small tank bag, with the power lead (red plug) coming from under the forward part of the front seat.. PTT button on the left hand side handlebar.

Hope this might help,,, failing which give GSrich a shout ....

Good luck with it mate.

Sorry mate, yesterday was a busy one and I didnt really get chance to have a look on here.

I do not have the ZZR1200 listed on my bike details as they are not a common bike with us really but you will be fine for the live to go to either the inline brake connector or the tail light and the earth can go direct to battery. As these power sources are swtiched power feeds there will be no power being taken from the bikes battery if the bike was to be left.

What ever you do DO NOT WIRE THE SYSTEM DIRECT TO THE BIKES BATTERY as the system will always be on and will drain yuor battery.

Cheers Rich. Nice of you to reply, much appreciated. Ive taken the feed from the tail lights as you suggested and found a nice big earth nearby. Many thanks again.:beerjug:
