Anyone have any experience with a faulty light/repair/replacement.
I know these were fitted and supplied by a bmw dealer for the previous owner -( I have a receipt somewhere).
Just noticed one is out — initial web scan shows that they are not repairable — can anyone prove this to be wrong ?
Or is it just a case or buying new?
Any info would be helpful
Cheers

If, they're oem then you can replace the bulb etc. They're also fused individually so check them too.

Ok — thanks for that —
Only noticed when I got to work this morning that one was out — didn’t know they would be individually fused — or you could replace the bulb — a job for when I’ve had me afternoon nap - cheers

In my experience they normally blow without taking the fuse out. One time the fuse went at which point I realised the dealer had put the fuse box on the new loom they fitted under the tank :blast Normally the fuse box is under the beak on older models and under left hand side panel for later ones (and now mine) :)

Took unit off swapped over and definitely a bulb/ light fault.
It’s a hella unit and I don’t have a long enough T10 at home to open her up
Off on a trip for a few days so it will have to wait until I get back - if anyone has replaced these led type bulbs pleas let me know where to obtain one.
Again following a quick web search looks like hella don’t supply them - a few people have had success with drying them out.
Thanks for messages so far.

I bought pair of 12w led bulbs from Amazon, iirc it was £20 for them.

The OEM led lights don't have a bulb. The earlier lamps use H11 bulbs or an H11 led bulb. The later lamps (led) can be dried out to see if it helps but the led chip is not replaceable.
Are yours H11 bulb fitting or led chip?
LED on the left, H11 on the right.

Hi
Yes led is now out — Osram JFLCF2 12v 14w
I’m in the process of drying out - but didn’t appear wet - I will re seal and use heat sink comping in the back

Bit of a bummer really — I have the receipt and the previous owner paid circa £450 fitted with s/w on handle bars - to last 6 years !
If I need to replace I will search for some with replaceable bulbs - me thinks
Cheers

Well dried out (but didn’t appear to be wet) and it looks like the life of the spot is over.
Can anyone recommend a good pair of replacements Or does anyone have a good one to sell?
