Auxiliary headlights, witchcraft or Brexit

Hi all,

Why is it every time I cross the channel to France my aux headlights turn themselves off?
In the UK you just leave them on and they work but in the land of garlic and cheese they turn themselves off.
Weird or what.
The work of the devil methinks.

Aux lights deemed not legal in France maybe BMW wrote something in their software..............if satnav or something else detects France..................
