I'm wanting to replace the auxiliary lights on my XT660Z Tenere as the e Islington Halogen lights are drawing too much power.
I can see cheap lights on Amazon/Ebay etc. and expensive lights like Denali but am struggling to find any reliable reviews.
Any recommendations would be appreciated for lights plus wiring & plugs etc. UK purchase.
Cheers.

If you go for a powerful light like Denali, and want to run them as AUX light, you really need a dimmer, or you'll hack everyone off! Including your mates if you're behind
To get around this, I use a dimmer - this one https://skenelights.com/skene-iq-275-intelligent-dimmer-for-led-lights.html
Now I run 20% power whenever the bike is running. Only 100% power when I have main beam on...

The Skene is really easy to wire in, and you don't even need a fuse. It has it's own relay so you don't need a relay either

I tried cheapy chinky led lights but they filled with condensation after being left outside overnight (I was away) and then a 300 mile ride home in poor winter conditions

So I pulled the trigger on Denali S4. Buy cheap buy twice :(

The dimmer, with the denali lights is a fab combo. Have this on my V85TT

I have the Puig Beam lights and like Martin K said you need so way of dimming them. I tested them (briefly) without and got a telling off from my mates :-)

Although not fancy 3 wire lights, they work ok with the ezCan unit which means they're switchable for only when I need them and I too run them 20% with DRL/dipped and 100% with main beam.

I second the Puig ones, dp66 you can use the wheel to control the dimming if you had a preference to change it on the go.

Think you hold the wheel left for 5 seconds and they flash they roll up or down to adjust the power

I have cheap Chinese ones on a Himalayan. Not good. I installed Denali D4s on a T7. They are excellent and very bright. Instead of the dimmer I bought the ‘dual switch’ which enables you to run at either 50% or 100%. This works well for me. I am just ordering D3 foglights for a V85, again with the dual switch. I think I prefer these as they are just as powerful yet slightly smaller.
The ‘abikething’ chap has excellent comparison reviews on his website & YouTube.

Thanks guys, I've gone with the Valley Lighting option as Denali too much £ for my second bike.
Cheers Karl.

Would this piece of kit work with an older 150GSA, or just canbus bikes?

Neil W thanks for the recommendation, easy purchase, arrived no problem, fitted easily and work as described.
Thanks.

No bother , popping down on Monday to puck up a pair for the 1150

Just found this thread... I had a crappy ride back home after visiting family the other night - 8pm ish, so dark, rained all the way etc... this was my first proper night ride I've had on my 1150GS. It's my second GS, having put about 80K miles on my first so I'm well aware of the limits of the headlight design and I've been through HID's and put LED's in both headlights, as well as converting the standard BMW 1150ADV spots to LED... but what a rotten ride... the two headlights put out hardly anything and I had to ride super slow, judging my position by the centre line and oncoming traffic...

So I'm looking to replace the aux lights with new LED units, and to work out some solution for the two main lights. I've found this company and sent an email to check pricing and if the lights have a cut off so no blinding oncoming traffic.

They're in Poland and I used google translate to get through their site. There are YT vids of their work which looks to be of a high standard. No idea on £ yet, but I do like the idea of completely changing the optics as well as the bulbs...

Following the suggestion here I'm looking at Valley lighting products for aux lights - any feedback please on quality, reliability and light output from those that have them gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Knucklemoto, my experience of Valley Lighting was poor. One of the lights failed in a couple of weeks (replaced no problem) then the other failed a few weeks later but this time Valley Lighting just ignored my emails. I had to go through my credit card company to a full refund. The owner of Valley Lighting lied during the process with the credit card company which was silly as all the email exchanges with him were on the eBay email system.
So for me Valley Lighting strongly NOT recommended.
Karl.

Thanks Karl... some ebay feedback mirrors your experience, so not for me. The search continues...

Not UK based but a very good setup for reasonable money...Colight

Put a set on my gsa and im very happy with the quality :thumby:

I bought a pair of aux lights for
£108 over 5 yrs ago from

They look very similar to the £24.99 ones on Ebay. But are deffo different.
2 pics attached....
I have found them absolutely fantastic. No condensation, powder coating still excellant.
Still operate & look as new.
I've had my twin cam nearly 11 years, just sold it & will be buying another pair of these for my next bike. Hopefully a V85tt...
