I have recently fitted Hella F50's and Micro de fog lamps to my 2004 R1200Gs, through an autoswitch activated and cancelled through the indicator cancel switch. All connections are soldered and have been checked, but I cannot establish what is causing the lights to turn off while riding. There is no specific duration, roughness of road which causes them to go off, except motorway speeds, where they go off within seconds. Any suggestions to solve the problem would be much appreciated.

The model is the AS6B which is for canbus wired models 2004 onwards.

My understanding is that although it may be advertised as suitable for the 1200, it has never performed that well.

But do a search on ADV Rider for more info.

I don't have the 1200 model but I have fitted an autoswitch to my 1150, but the principles should be the same.

do you have the autoswitch LED visible, RED powered but off, green powered and on. what colour is the LED when the lights switch off ?

the only other thing I can think of is as I understand the CANBUS it does have fuses but monitor the load on the cicuit if it goes to high it cuts power to the affected circuit, does the AS6B have a electronic circuit breaker the same as AS5P variation if so you may have a faulty relay loading the autoswitch.

I assume you have followed the instructions that are on the autoswitch website. they have a Email help service have you tried that ?

bar what I've mentioned I can't really think of anyelse.
