I have a 1999 1150GS and have bought a heat4jacket kit to heat my thinning blood and warm my kidneys. :monkeypiz

a)What/where is the best location to fit a second auxiliary socket?
The existing aux socket on the bike down by the starter motor isn't very convenient for connecting/disconecting when stopping at petrol stations etc. Pics appreciated
b)Is there a waterproof 12v controller available for use with these heat4bikes kits?

Thanks ::)

The handiest place would probably be the wee panel between the tank and the beak Jonesai where it is on the 1150GSA. Sorry I don't have a pic. :o

Found a pic for you Jonesai. :)

I've a K series accessory socket and mount. It fits perfectly under the fuel/temp guage. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

Heated jacket.

I have a gerbing and they supply the wirinfg and all you have is a female lead hanging at the front of thre seat area and just plug in here. saves long leads every wher and is long enough not to pull out when you get off and forget to unplug it!. These jacketys are available with a belt mounted cotroller or dash mounted unit, I have to latter and fell off last year courtesy of the dog (now deceased) and broke the knob off (£55.00) so either used abelt one or avoid dogs!!.

I wired in a lead under the seat. When I', not using it it lies in the gap twix the seat and the tank.
for a switch I use the gizmo that turns on/off when you hold the indictor cancel. It works fairly well. Cruder than a variable temp control, but easy to switch on and off when too hot/cold

You get wiring instructions with the kit
Red (+ve) to plus terminal on battery via a fused lead (supplied)
Black (-ve) lead to earth
