Hi,

I've just added an auxiliary socket direct from the battery with a waterproof fuse, it obviously didn't come with a fuse but I'm unsure what size to fit? I'm thinking either. 2 or 3 amp, what would you recommend ?

Thanks,

Steve

Depends on what you intend plugging into the socket. Also what is the wire thickness ?

Its ohms law, I = P/V. Where I is current in amps, P is power in watts and V is volts. So for example suppose you want to power a 20 watt heated vest, then calculate 20 watts divided by 12 volts, which is just under 2. So choose a 2 amp fuse, or next higher.

I think i have 7,5A fuses in both bikes sockets. Heaviest load gives mini compressor wich i use few times per year.

Great tips thanks . I've used 17 amp cable , I won't be using anything heavier than a compresser and in reverse using it as an oximser charging input . So 7.5 amp as suggested ok you think ?

Now that's a good equation !
