auxiliarydriving light switch - choice

[Michael R1150GS Adventure]

I have aux driving spots on my bike and have been operating them with a toggle switch beside my saddle for ages now (it was temp switch near battery to try it out) and have left it a bit long now to fit a proper rocker type switch...

anyone found a nice one for the 1150 GSA bars?

any suggestion on where to source very welcome, i need to measure the bar diameter.... best check...!

I have the same switch as that on both my bikes, it looks like it should be there, and has proved to be weather proof.

Just to add, have a search around, I only paid £10 posted for mine, I think with BMW ...GS in the title the price automatically goes up.

Same - got mine from Nippy Normans.

The autoswitch is only £20, not far off the price for the rocker switch. It is very reliable and does not clutter up the handlebars. Many BMW riders, including me, use these switches. Easy to fit http://www.autoswitch.com/downloads/as7/directions-as7.pdf Highly recommended.

does it work off your existing lighting controls?

Its an electronc switch that monitors your indicator cancel button. You just press and hold your cancel button for about a second or more, when you release the button the switch operates, it will operate your light relay. Doing the same again turns it off. It does not alter the use of your indicator cancel button and a LED is used to indicate its operation, changing from red to green when operated. no wires or switches on show.

I bought one of THESE on eBay. £2.02 delivered from China. It arrived just over a week later. Well worth waiting a few more days over a UK seller where they go for over a tenner plus postage. Fits a treat too!

I use ...

... the double rocker switch plate as fitted to the F650 single as an optional extra. It mounts to the bar clamps on my 1150 and can even be sourced with illuminated switches if that's your bag

I just wired a relay to the main beam switch so the aux lights switch on with the main beam. I never need or want them on without the main beam as that means 2 lots of switches to operate each time they need to go on/off. Before this, I used an autoswitch like the others on here. They're really good...

I have best of both worlds, 2 fogs on auto switch, 2 spots wired into main beam switch and std lamps on Hid's ~~ can dry Tarmac at nights on my trips up A9

If you know what you're doing you can have your spots and fogs running off the autoswitch and have them automatically switch from fogs to spots when flicking from high to low beam, or on and off.

Just requires a relay for each set of extra lights.
