may or may not be a daft question:augie

In the process of removing my GPS power supply cable and have found it hardwired into the main supply.

Would I be able to use the existing GPS +ve and -ve feeds rather than rerouting to another supply?

Seems a pity to go to the extra trouble if this would suffice.

In anticipation

Joe

When you say hard wired - to what? Direct back to the battery or loom or fusebox? In theory, if it your GPS was wired correctly, the fuse and cable rating would be too low for Aux lights. I'd recommend a new circuit through a relay capable of 16 amps but fused to 10 amps Based on 60 watt lamps x 2. There's loads of panel mount switches out there that will cope (alledgedly) with 16 amps and you could bin the relay but it's always better to take an hour longer on the install for a lifetime of reliability. Any auto elec worth his salt should be able to install that circuit in an hour if you help out and de trim the bike and re trim afterwards. If you get no joy and fancy the ride bring it to us and we'll do it while you wait (properly!) http://www.cveglos.co.uk
