Fitted this to my GS during the week and I also purchased the Wunderlich engine housing protecter that arrived this morning.

Looking at the gap between the front engine casing and the extender, it looks like the protector may not clear the protecter once fitted.

Has anyone fitted both? I don't want to open the protector to try as I will be unable to return it as per NN's returns policy.

I had the same issue and it would have caught the guard so never fitted the extender.

The Avant looks like it overs plenty of protection on its own. I had one fitted to the other GS's I've owned and don't recall any engine case damage.

If I can get it to fit without catching I will, as any extra protection can only help protect the poor paint finish BMW engines have as I ride my bike in all weather.

I'm sure someone on ere has that set up, nutty maybe???, an I'm sure it was commented that although it is close, there were no issues, dare say someone else will be along to correct me if I'm wrong:thumby:

iv got the the cymarc protector with the avant fender extender an that's close, but no issues with catching.

That's a great heads up as the Cymarc one is larger than the Wunderlich one, so now hoping if the Cymarc one fits, the Wunderlich one will.

I'll have a look later and post up a picture if it does for future reference.

I have the Avant extender on my GS. The bottom of the engine (where BMW is cast in) still gets grit blasted nicely. Bear in mind that the front wheel effectively goes straight up and down as the suspension works; not towards the steering head, as a wheel mounted in 'proper' forks would.

Thats the one I've purchased. I've already fitted the fender extender though, so it may not fit.

I did it that way round with the exact same products. The wunderlich thing is smaller than you think. Won't be any issues.

I have both and they fit fine

I've the both fitted to a 2017 GSA and no clearance issues either. I had a order for a Cymarc but after reading some reports of clearance issues I changed it to the Wunderlich.

Perfect fit!
