Hi all,

When ordering an adventurer can you specify that you want the "E" long six gear?

Cheers

gearbox

Yes you can order it but DONT unless you are going to do all your long distance in the USA. I put 13,000 miles on a 02 gs with the E 6th gear and you need to be doing 75 to 80 to use the E. My new Adventure has the "sprort" gearbox with"6" not E. It is a million times better but I'm sure somebody else will differ with me.

I agree with ya.

The sport option is ultra sweet. The bike is responsive & accelerates well at motorway speeds and another reason for getting an Adventure over the standard GS :D

P.S:- I put some Red Line Shockproof gearbox oil in my bike -it almost changes "Suzuki good" now.

On this side of the Channel the only option is the shorter 1st gear, for off-road use. 6th is always standard, no overdrive option.

So I've got the standard and I have tried the overdrive on a mate's GS: I definitely prefer the standard 6th, much more responsive!

I've got E on mine, and I quite like it, I guess it depends on wether or not you change gear a lot.
Try both and decide yourself.

It wasn't on the options list for my new Adventure - the only options re gearing was the lower 1st ratio, which I chose.

Charles

Charles,
Possibly the only advantage to buying an adventure in expensive Ireland is that they come with every possible extra as standard. The big tank, grips, hand guards etc etc.
