AVG, updated version now available

But note what they say on their website for existing users......

GRISOFT is announcing a new version of the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. This new 7.5 version with improved performance and full compatibility with the latest Windows Vista version is available. Users that are using AVG Free 7.1 will be provided with a specific dialog, within the next few weeks, with the opportunity to choose the right option fulfilling their needs. AVG Free 7.1 version will be discontinued on 15th of Jan 2007.

It doesn't say that... have a read of the links.

i think there will still be a free edition of AVG Free but it will be v.7.5

not terribly clear.

The choice thing will be a selection between having the 'restricted' version of 7.5, with a single daily update, or the 'paid for' version of the programme with some more bells and whistles and more frequent updates, sometimes several in a few hours, as happened on Thursday.

Ive just done mine
download the new verison and run it, it will give you a dialogue box with add and change components. make sure thats checked and it will upgrade your existing.

theres no need to remove the old one are disable it while it upgrades

It will restart your machine.

The website says to choose the "Repair" option if upgrading from 7.1 to 7.5
