Coming back from today's Kent rideout, there was an almighty bang on my helmet as I was hit by a wood pigeon. Rob (who riding behind) was covered with feathers but said the bird kept flying, "it went at least 15 feet up into the air". My helmet and visor were covered with fine dust and I had to stop with the pain in my neck.
I reckon the pigeon is a dead 'un, so who do I sue for my avian whiplash? Nadeem who organised the rideout or Nick who did the route plan? Did Nadeem do a risk assessment covering low flying pigeons? Did Nick post avian warning signs?
