Aviation day for us this Saturday.
We started at the AutoGiro experience just outside Rufforth, where they have a small museum, the twin seat open cockpit Autogiros are probably the closest thing you can get to aero motorcycling. There is a nice café on site so you can sit and watch the Autogiros and the Microlights take off and land.
Next visit was the Sutton Bank gliding club, a café in the control tower is open to visitors. The grubs great and it probably has the best views in Yorkshire.
Next time we will start at Breighton airfield and see the Real Aeroplane company's collection.
(sorry we don't include Elvington in this type of ride, its so good it takes up all day leaving no time for riding)

ooooh I do aviation too

That seems like a pleasant way to combine a number of interests,GSing, aviation and best views,
I think best views are subjective but for what its worth, the view west coming back from Beverley via Walkington on the B 1230 as you drop down hill towards North Cave will take some beating
You can see the Humber,Trent power station,Emley Moor mast, and the White horse across the vale of york amongst all the other lowland points of interest
The best place of all though, is at my house/airstrip where you can if you ask nicely see an aeroplane on a farm airstrip, have a propper cup of Yorkshire tea and the scenery is ok too
so if your on a GS passing on the A1near Wentbridge on a ride out.pm me and if im free and not tearing round on my GS,the kettle will be on and aviationand adventure riding is the language
any donation offered would be directed to The Yorkshire Air Ambulance of which I have no connection but seems like a good idea:D
