I have the bike in bits, and before I re-assemble, I'm going to ACF-50 the internal gubbins. Appart from the brakes, is there anywhere I shouldn't spray ACF-50:confused:
I can see the ECU and all sorts from here:D

I personally would also avoid spraying the tyres, seat cover, handlebar grips, screen, mirror glasses. I would also think it unwise to apply ACF-50 to parts of your body, in particular, any orifices and/or genitals.

I wouldn't spray it in your eye - it'll sting a bit.

(And I gotta ask - why blank out your bike plate but not your car???)

Man you're going to town with that idea!! I know people do 'acf days' and have their bike pro sprayed like you're away to but to be honest what i did was -

Bought the bike - 2006 12gs

Had the bike delivered

cleaned it better than bmw's valeters

spent £12.99 on a can of acf 50

spent around 7 mins (as long as the can lasted) carefully spraying everything that looked like it could corrode and coated it with a good thick layer

What i'll do from here on through winter -

Rinse with cold water from hose pipe after every wet / salty ride

Spray liberally with FS365 after the above

Around christmas break i'll re-do bike with another can of ACF-50 and repeat FS365 treatment and rising etc after riding

And in spring.............wash properly......and..........Taaadaaa!!

Or at least thats the idea! Its worked brilliantly over the past 2 years on my TDM with just FS365 so i would imagine the results will be if anything even better with use of ACF50.

Best of luck!

that motorbike looks well uncomfortable, I'd buy some bigger foot pegs

The stuff does 'creep' so make sure it's well away from places you'd rather not get it on.

Oh, and it's much easier to apply if you first squirt it into a container and then brush it on :thumb2

Brake Rubbers!!!as in ones that come into contact with the brake fluid !

It seems to make them swell!

Perhaps just coincidence????

Fire.
I wouldn't spray it onto any naked flame.
Especially the sun.
I definitely wouldn't go spraying it on the surface of the sun. Or even inside an active volcano.

It's a bit like 'don't push this button' isn't it - I'm gonna have to have a go at that when I get home this afternoon, sounds like fun :thumb

Don't spray it on the wife, she wasn't likely to rust and you'll be unable to grasp her firmly at important moments.

I couldn't remove my key from the ignition the other day at the Ponderosa (not on steering lock)-good job I had a spare key when filling up. I finally managed it at home with equal measures of patience and graphite powder since when it has been fine. I have read that oil in a lock can cause grit to stick together and mess things up nicley so I did wonder whether my over enthusiastic of ACF-50 could have had a similar effect....so locks may be one to avoid.
