I have to say I was sceptical about how well these intercoms would work but when the price dropped to just over a hundred quid I thought I'd bite the bullet and see how they worked. I am amazed, fitted the unit on the bike and both helmets and went off to Skye for the weekend. All the preparation I had time for was to tune the position of the mikes whilst standing by the bike and set the VOX adjustment to half way thinking this would be a good starting point but expecting loads of fiddling to fine tune. How wrong can you be! It worked perfectly and didn't pick up any wind noise until an indicated 110. I even plugged the MP3 player in for the motorway part of the journey and that worked a treat too. I can't speak for the functionality of the 'phone part as I can imagine nothing worse than the 'phone ringing while you're riding.

All in all I am more than impressed.

glad to hear it all works without to much trouble, i too have bitten the bullet and purchased said equipment, but as is normal with me it is now sat next to my computer waiting for me to mount it in the lids, my xr1000 looks easy enough but the wife and kids raid do not have removable cheekpads so look a little more involved, o that reminds me must get the crash bars out of the shed and fit them. i will look a right tool if i drop the bike on ice and have the bars in the shed won't i :homer

Had an autocom bike to bike set up fitted for about a year now. I like it very much. My lessons learnt are: (1) if possible power the radio from the bike (rather than rechargeable batteries) as if you're on a weekend camping it is quite difficult to charge the battery, also, I've found the re-chargeable batteries to be good for 7 hours or so which might not be sufficient if you're on a long day out and (2) if you're using PTT (push to talk) pack the switch with some sort of electrical grease, mine failed during a particularly heavy downpour over Harstide and took a good few hours to dry out.

Wellcome to the Autocom-Funs team...

Ofcourse it works :) .....
It will also work with the phone and radio as well.

My advise for the phone issue; please select a phone, which delivers a good / loud sound to the earphones. Nokia's are good (IMO), Siemens (a couple different models) were poor. I don't know the situation of SonyEricsson...

About the radio; please note, that the "quality sound" limit is lower (in terms of speed) then the music and intercom performance. You may listen to music or talk to yeou pillion up to +200km/h speeds (with correct VOX adjustment), but the radio is only limited up to 120 - 130km/h...
Also note, the faster you ride, the shorter is the range of radio. In general; the range of a PMR radio (on bike - while riding) 750 - 100m; depending on the terrain and speed. Do not expect sevral miles and curves ahead...

happy use of your gadget :clap
