Sorting out some accomodation for one of our trips up North again and I`m thinking of staying in Plockton, been there a few times but just passing through. Anyone recommend a decent B&B with parking for the bikes etc, and which would be the best pub for food & ale?

Thanks,

can't vouch for any b&b but have stayed in the plockton bunkhouse many times , all the pubs are good and the people very friendly , especially the young ones (you might even get invited to a happening) , if you are going in the summer they have a music festival which is great , follow the music around the pubs and streets.

Sounds good, Plockton it is then. :beerjug:

Wev`e used bunkhouses loads over the past few years and with the exception of a couple most of them have been very good, I`ll have a look.

Thanks. WellyGog.

What ever place you decide upon, book early. I've never yet managed to find a room in Plockton despite trying on several occasions.

I can't imagine bike security is a big issue there.

Bear in mind that for the next couple of months, you can't go north from there to Lochcarron Station.
Landslip means that you have to use the turntable ferry at Strome. Yeah, Strome Ferry (no ferry) but if you miss the timetable then it's about a 140 mile detour!

Thanks, I always book around this time of year for our trips in either April or May, and even book a few ahead to September / October. I`ll have a good looksee tonight.

Hopefully the landslip and the road will be clear when we get there!

Thanks for the heads up. :)
