Pick up day is here

On my way to collect a 2014 TE after 18 months off the bike.

Any tips, tricks, things to check over before I ride off are appreciated.

Got to love public transport. Time for train 2 in the 3 hr journey there. Will only take 1hr 30 to get home!

Thanks. Home and tucked up for tonight. Tomorrow it gets a deep clean then farkles start being added and it’ll get a polish and ceramic coat for good measure.

Good to be back. Took a few miles to get back into the flow of it but I do love these beasts!

That’s a nice looking period station, where is it?

Nice. In 1991 I took a train to Hull with a 1 way ticket to buy an FZR 600. I loved that bike. It was back in the day of MCN classifieds so a Wednesday after the early phone call.

Happy days - enjoy your new ride!

It’s my second 1 way train to buy a bike blind.

Last one was Newcastle, which took a while, to get my last mint GS from this parish. Was a long ride bike that one but well worth it!

I like to do a stretch before I get on the bike. Nothing too major, couple of slow touch you toes, twist your hips, pull your shoulder joints open.
Enjoy.

Good idea. I tend to walk round the bike giving it a quick look over as I'm putting my gloves on. Amazing how many people just get on and tear off down the road - well it is to me, but then again I'm often on a 2 stroke!!

The good old days queuing up to buy Midland Auto Trader from the Newsagent the minute they opened.

ooo, 'blind bike purchase' .. nice one .. love the trepidation you get, looks like it was worth it :beerjug:
I did one last year .. one way ticket from Reading to Darlington to pick up a 1981 R80 G/S .. train up, stayed at the premier in and picked the bike up next morning. Nice chap, who was into his BMW classics, asked me where I was riding to and when I said Reading he did give me a slightly startled look but said, 'should be okay' .. didn't miss a beat but my arse was pretty squared off after 7 hours and some lovely riding in the Dales before getting home home!

Yep. Def some trepidation but I got a good price and the bike is nice. Bonus of it being a main dealer is when I noticed the Enduro Pro chip was missing they just ordered one and posted it to me next day delivery.

Still haven’t got my V5C though!
