Can anyone recommend a good back protector, one that doesn't make you sweat like a pig.

They'll all add a bit of extra insulation, inevitable. However, I'm really pleased with my Forcefield Flite Harness.
Wore it under leathers in the South of France last summer, a bit sweaty, yes. But not too bad. Mind you my leather jacket is perforated.
Highly rated armour. Obviously it's conjecture but I'm convinced that my mates Flite saved his life when he had a head-on with a Mitsubishi L200 Pick up over a year and a half ago, he's still recovering from leg injuries but at least he's alive. It's after this incident that I bought mine.
