Back to Silver engines?

Spotted this facelift GS which appears to have reverted back to the silver engine. Wish they'd make their minds up! Hope its better quality paint than we're used to.

Black engine available in the rallye and the exclusive. It's the the "normal" bike that gets silver

Personally, I can't stand the silver engine/ frame on a GS; I think they look dated. Quite why BMW keeps going back to fitting them on their bikes, after standardising on black is a mystery.

Personally I prefer silver, especially on the swing arm

Perhaps they could bring out a "triple silver" model R1200 GS TE TS has a certain ring to it.

I was looking at the corrosion on the engines of the used bikes at Allan Jefferies and one of the black ones had the worst corrosion by some margin. There were more corroded silver engines, but then the majority of the bikes were silver engined

There's a Rallye and a Rallye Sport perhaps 1 silver the other black. Most of the photos. Most of the photo's I've have been black and the one in this weeks MCN is black as well

Silver doesn't show the dirt - black shows everything... As I'd rather be riding than cleaning - I like silver

thought i read some where on here black was for the UK model only due to all the silver ones having paint defects ??? so if that true this might be a "foreign " version

I do agree Black is the new silver though..looks far far better
