Backlight Problems on a Laptop.

I have an Acer laptop that has suddenly developed a very dark screen. When I switch on it lights up very dimly and then vitually disapears apart from a semi bright area in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I am assuming that it is a backlight problem because if I look at the screen in the dark all the stuff that is normally there is still there. Is it a problem that can be tackled at home by an amatuer or would I be better off taking it in for repair?

If the latter, does anybody know of a reputable repair shop in the Swanley, Dartford or Gravesend area?

Its probably the inverter which is usually located at the bottom of the laptop screen or close by (hidden), Difficult to tell without taking it to bits

Not for the fainthearted or fat fingered


cant help with the repairshop but unless your confident then a repairshops the place
