Anyone got any instructions / pics showing how the straps fit please ?
Bike is a 2010 non-adventure.
I know these are best fitted on a hot sunny day, but we've not had one of those in Cumbria for a while & I want to get it fitted !
The cover is new and quite stiff, which doesn't help.

Thanks in advance :D

Easy

Trying to fit these things when they are cold is a nightmare, they need to be soft so they can be stretched into place.

To fit you will need to loosen the tank side panels to nip the edge of the tank cover and then wrap the front strap around the headstock making you you dont foul or nip any wires. With the seat removed it is eas to hook the four securing points under the tank.

You will find it will settle into place after 2 or 3 weeks.

All the best.

Try putting in the airing cupboard for a few days. it will make it easier to fit.
:)

I also have one fitted on my GSA, we warmed it in airing cupboard as suggested we also used a hot hairdryer whilst applying it two person job made it easier, its never been off since fitting 8 months ago. :D

Great piece of kit:thumb

Baglux

Going to have another go at fitting this today as the sun's out ! Baglux appear to have added two extra straps at the front top, compared with any of the fitting instructions I can find.
Anyone got any ideas how these are suposed to fit ? Some pics ideally ! I asked Baglux who kindly send me pics of all the strap fitting positions except the front-top ones

Make sure the tank cover is nice and warm before fitting, two straps at the front go round the head stock just to secure in place.:rob

As others have said, vital that it is nice and warm so the material remains flexible. Left in the hot press for a few hours works as does a hairdryer if you have the patience. Warm sunshune would be excellent:Motomartin.

If putting holes in the straps to mount screws through open them with a pointed tip solering iron to stop fraying.

Get the front strap properly in position first, then do everything else loosely and tighten at the end.

Mount the front strap first to get the position of the cover lined up with the petrol cap. Watch you dont trap wiring or hoses and make sure the strap connects firmly around the frame.

Next mount the rear strap. Unscrew the document holder, put the strap behind it and screw through it. Much easier to do if you put a hole in the strap first. Pic below before the strap goes in place.

Then mount the lef and right hand sides. Clips to the rear at tank edge and holes in straps screwed in on the front.

Then the front side clips.

Tighten everything up bit by bit until its all positioned perfectly.

After a few days, especially in sunshine the straps need to be retightened until everything settles in.

Put it in a large bucket of hot water.

Wet and warm helps it mould into place.

Done it on the last three I fitted (to other bikes)

Baglux

Thanks all, especially RobertG for all the pictures.

Job done :thumb2

Pity Baglux can't be bothered to produce any decent instructions.
