not sure this is the right section to post in, but I can't see anywhere else which is 'right on the money'

anyone tried to paint/dye/otherwise change the colour of a baglux tank harness ?

I have a black one and I'd like to change it to kalahari yellow.

Anyone tried this? Results ?

You might have had some success going the other way from yellow to black, using shoe dye but any attempt at going from black to yellow is probably going to need some sort of plasticised paint which, even if it works initially, is going to crack, peel and flake off through time. That's only going to result in it looking even nastier than a yellow one would.

Keep it black - it's a far more appropriate colour for a motorcycle than yellow. :augie

cheeky sod :D - it's luvverly  (altho I must admit I'd never buy a car in that colour :nenau )

Forgot earlier that I also have a white baglux harness - does that make any odds? What is this plasticised paint of which you speak - have you a trade name I could search for and where I may find it ? :thumb

If you can find a yellow shoe dye then that might work on the white harness. I can't help with product details - I just remember re-colouring a pair of brown shoes, light blue back in the 70's when......

It's almost guaranteed to look a right dogs dinner.

I'd sell it and get one in the colour you want.

Or you could always emulsion your tank to match the black harness :thumb

There are leather paints available, just search google. I found some a few years ago after scuffing a jacket. With enough coats it should cover eventually, but will probably wear thin pretty quick.
Lot of hassle TBH.
Think I'd sell the black one and buy a new one, or paint the bike black :hide
