Tried and failed to fit the tank cover yesterday on my 2009 GSA

I could see about taking the plastic side parts off and I could see what I imagined to have the two holes through the winglet screws BUT the entire things didnt match up to the holes - was being pulled all over the joint

Anybody else had any difficulties or I am just totally incapable of doing anything to my bike.....

Appreciate any encouraging comments, suggestions, pictures, whatever as I am going away on Friday and really need this

Any possiblity - the one you have is for a 2006/2007?

I believe they are different.

I checked the code on the Bagster site and the one I have shows the 2008 model on it, which I checked and was told is the same for 2008 and 2009

Right hand side of the 2008-onwards is like below:

The 2006-2007 has different shape/hole locations

needs to be heated before putting it on. Put it on a warm hot water tank for a few hours then put in on the bike pulling the straps tight.

Does it not come with instructions. I had to do this with mine.

No instructions provided - saw on the website that they recommend installing when it is above 20 degrees!! But difficult in winter. So I assume the holes are underneath the plastic side part and the Winglet first hole - correct? How did you guys tighten the strap near the bars - am concerned about trapping anything

Cheers

Front "lobes" of the bagster go under the winglets.

Take a hairdrier or hot air gun (gentle now!) and get a bit of heat into it after you attach the front lobes?

Loop the front strap around the headstock, keeping it clear of cables/hoses - so that when you pull it tight - they aren't trapped or placed under tension.

Cheers - will get the hairdryer on it tomorrow :-) Just didnt seem to want to stretch hardly at all yesterday - was not a happy chap!!! So you started with the two lobes at the front first before moving backwards towards the seat?

The clips that go under the side of the tank - looking at it, there aint too much space, so I guess these have to be angled a bit to get them to bite right?
