I had to go to Alton recently and thought I would call in at Bahnstormers on the way back home. I went in, both salesmen busy on the phone, but one of them waved me through to the kitchen area and told me to make myself a drink and make myself comfortable.

Read several bike mags and drank their coffee, while also keeping an eye on their workshop through the new glass window they have installed. Looks good.

Anyway, had a look round their bikes - rather a nice 1150ADV for sale - talked to one of the sales guys about it - his name is Paul Davies. Memory cells ticked back - 24 years ago I bought a new BMW R80ST from a Paul Davies at BMW Park Lane - my first boxer twin - so asked the question - stone me - it's the same bloke! So we had a good catch up and I went on my way.

The part exchange price didn't set the world on fire, so I left it, but while all this crap is going on with Cannons, I thought I would point out a dealer where I was made to feel welcome, was under no obligation, was able to help myself to their free coffee, and chilled for a half hour before riding home.

Bahnstormer is a really good dealer - I have been using them since they opened - about 18 months now, and I highly recomend their service :thumb2

Nice relaxed atmosphere... and not only offered free coffee, but cakes, bickies & fruit too :clap It's amazing how the little things can make us feel good!

SPC was always like that, great place on Saturday morning plus a 10% discount to Club members on parts, and, of course, the owner, Ron, (or was it Jim or Bert), amused us all..........pity he spent all the dosh

There is some continuity there with John Gilbride, General Manager under 'Ron' and now Marketing Manager at Bahnstormer, Paul and Alistair are OK too ;)

Oh and last in I heard was one PL 2 and a half, 'Catch yersel on' Sharon :thumb2

Good dealership, and a good loyal crowd of customers, just don't go down on a Saturday expecting to get seen quick, instead dive in to the family circle and knock yerself out with the drinks machine, even bring your laptop for a bit of surfing I think?

And from me too. They sorted out spares for my F650GS really quickly and when a fork seal went on my R1150GS 2 days before my holiday they fitted me in straight away and it cost less than they quoted because it didn't take as long as they thought:thumb2
