Stopped by Bahnstormers the other day as I now have to find an alternative dealer to NOG.

Saw a sign saying ACF treatment £30, and after a couple of minutes conversation I ascertained that no, that wasn't a special price with a service, yes, it did include a clean and valet, and yes, I could have it done now while I waited:thumb2.

So I did, it was a very thorough clean, 'though I wouldn't have called it a valet, thorough treatment with ACF50), plus you get the remainder in the can. An excellent job all round, spoiled only by riding into a buzzard on the way home which broke an indicator, a winglet and left blood and innards and feathers all over me erstwhile clean bike.

Good job it was just the bike that it hit and not you,

Stay lucky

Whats the crack with that ACF stuff, I was almost talked into buying some the other day....then convinced myself it was just rather expensive WD40....

I enjoy cleaning my bike, what is this ACF stuff and where would I put it.

Details here, it's quite different to WD in that it both reverses and inhibits corrosion, plus it stays on your bike and provides year round protection. I ACF'd my bike at the beginning of winter and haven't cleaned it since, until I got the valet and re-acf'd at bahnstormer, and there is no corrosion anywhere.

Spray it everywhere except the brakes:augie, and do a search on here as it's been discussed lots of times.

Does anyone know if there is anybody doing this north of the border..??

Done it myself tonight, Cleaned and dried the bike, then soaked a rag in the AFC 50, Then just smeared it everywhere, a few sprays here and there. But Job done, going to let it settle until tommorrow, then wipe it off. Then trust it.

The salts gone. i'm in the throes of washing the stuff off now. Note the use of the word "throes" not easy to get off.

When it's summer, it's nice to have a clean bike, for a short while at least.

My location may give it away, compared to yours.:D

The Mrs just got her Volvo valeted inside and out, including the alloys and a 'shake and vac' powder that makes me sneeze for £13.

Come up beautiful it has. It took 2 of them 30 mins.

Poles - you can't beat them :thumb

Indeed it will probably help! I've heard that there are now plants growing on British roadside verges which previously only existed in salt marshes and sand dunes :eek

Just when it looked like clearing we got another dump of snow two weekends ago, with associated salt mountain :blast

Nice today though!

They never needed to use salt in Eastleigh when I were a lad....all the soot and crap from the Railway Works provided a ready made road de-icer....:augie
