So after snow last week, an opportunity to meet with some ADV riders and ride dirt offered itself.
The plan was to met at a famous truck stop in central Vermont and travel the Bailey Hazen Road, which was originally built in the revolutionary war as a Montreal-Boston Overland route, for history go here :

and the route:

So the journey began:
I was on the road for a little over 13 hours with over 340 miles of slab in between, but the 140 miles of dirt we played in was more than enough to keep me smiling into the darkness on I 93!
So we started at P&H which was fun to experience, very much like any greasy spoon at home, then we got started in the search for the famous road:
Once we got started, the 2 hours of fog through MA and NH were a distant memory:
The road to dirt!! Woo Hoo
Then stopped to survery the scenes
this old cab has been there a while, it is the part of the tree! :huh
We met K2 and bro (ADV riders) shortly afterwards.
After some rapid dirt and fast tarmac
A fuel stop, and me thinking how clean my NEW bike was looking, how things were about to change!
K2 coming out of the woods
Me coming out of the woods:
We had a few sections that proved "too technical for the pig" We had to fight the bikes up this section:
And my Newly baptisted bike....she only got dirtier from her!
As I left the other guys and the sun went down, the smile just got bigger as I thought of how I just had the perfect GS day! Mileage, off road and dirt =
