BAKERY OFFROAD

This is Steve's (he is in yellow below) 70cc bike. It is actually his daughters as his bike is not road legal. It is a TS50, with a bored out block to 70cc (so he can yield a magnificent 46mph with the wind behind him)

He has a background in Trials and used to run his own motorcycle kids display team so he can pretty much ride anything and show everyone up! I started green laning with him nearly 10 years ago as part of the original crew. I think he is on this forum somewhere, can't remember his handle.

To: Steve & the Bikers and all those who helped in any way to make the 10th Annual Bikers Event so successful.

I was genuinely delighted to be invited to this year’s annual ‘Bikers Event’. As I live just across the road I normally only hear and see the bikers depart so I really enjoyed meeting everyone and chatting about the Gateway Club. Several of you were obviously interested in what we do and I take this opportunity of saying ‘please visit the Club on a Monday evening from 7-9pm if you would like to meet the members’. We are based at The Wykeham Club at 6 Western Road, Andover.

I was also glad I was able to help out for a short time on the tea urn because my thanks to everyone, though sincere, never seem adequate for your generosity, so my helping to make cups of tea was a small physical ‘thank you’.

The money you have donated will pay for a bus outing, tickets for a good theatre show or even some help towards an annual holiday.

I hope everyone made a safe, if very muddy return today and that you all enjoyed the ride. You certainly looked a very happy band when you left this morning.

Yours sincerely

Damn, looks like I missed the best turn out for the last few years:-(. Unfortunately ski trip conflicted this year but hope to be back at the next one!

Bakerman,

Thanks for a very enjoyable, well organised day out. Great fun and glad you raised so much for the Gateway Club.

Additional thanks to Russell and 'Darkhorse' for steering Group F around the Plain, I was the 250excf at the back!

Thanks to Bakerman for another top day and to all for chipping in to raise so much for Gateway. At least - at least I hope - there's a bunch of old biddies Andover way that don't think bikers are all low life!

Theres a few video clips of Group A and Wiltshire's finest ruts here...

I'll try and do a big bike group aimed at adventurous GSers at the HogRoast if there's demand.

'till then
