I've been nailing and hammering for decades and never had a ball pein hammer.

Now I need one FFS!

Ebay is my friend.

I've had one for decades.. a bloody big one used to break metal samples on a granite block. I'm on my second block of granite, but hopefully this will see me through to retirement ;)

Making dimples in the gasket paper was done with my thumb rubbed into the head and then cut out the indent with a Stanley knife, so we didn't risk damaging the nicely machined Land Rover engine block.

Take your pick, I’ll send you one if you’d like one of my unused for years collection
Very kind! I also have a drawer full of hammers - claw, tacking, rubber, copper, leather, wooden, lump etc etc, but none a ball pein.

One on its way from eBay.

You lot are wasted, one hammer fits all

A bloody good claw hammer works for every thing :)

Failing that a sledge hammer destroys the evidence 👍

Oooh! Is that a Thor copper/hide hammer hiding underneath? One of my first hammers was a Thor copper one for securing MG midget wire wheel spinners.
It is indeed, that’s my best one, I have another in that drawer that’s had some abuse, F650 Pete might show off his collection of Thor hammers, I think he’s got the full set!

My ball pein is showing signs of wear, although to be fair it already looked like that when I got it 40 odd years ago :nenau

Don’t know where my lump hammer’s gone 😢

The lead mallet I made in my school metal work shop, it’s sand cast from melted down lead pipes I nicked out of some derelict houses at the top of my street, I don’t think you could do that these days
