Indeed - a 4 ounce ball pein hammer has been ordered.
You can do it with the ring end of a combination spanner.
You can use steel ball bearings if it’s to make the holes for studs etc in the gasket?

I've had one for decades.. a bloody big one used to break metal samples on a granite block. I'm on my second block of granite, but hopefully this will see me through to retirement 
Making dimples in the gasket paper was done with my thumb rubbed into the head and then cut out the indent with a Stanley knife, so we didn't risk damaging the nicely machined Land Rover engine block.

Oooh! Is that a Thor copper/hide hammer hiding underneath? One of my first hammers was a Thor copper one for securing MG midget wire wheel spinners.
Very kind! I also have a drawer full of hammers - claw, tacking, rubber, copper, leather, wooden, lump etc etc, but none a ball pein.

It is indeed, that’s my best one, I have another in that drawer that’s had some abuse, F650 Pete might show off his collection of Thor hammers, I think he’s got the full set!

My ball pein is showing signs of wear, although to be fair it already looked like that when I got it 40 odd years ago

The lead mallet I made in my school metal work shop, it’s sand cast from melted down lead pipes I nicked out of some derelict houses at the top of my street, I don’t think you could do that these days
