Ball pein hammer

I went many years without a claw hammer, when we started rebuilding our first house I bought an Estwing. At home it’s my hammer of choice. I still have three sizes of ball pein, two at work and a “toffee” sized one at home.

This is real hammer porn.

Carbon fibre shaft, with an intrinsically safe, non-sparking head.
Basically, you can tap wheel nuts on vehicles like petrol tankers

Nerd time:
The word "peen" likely comes from a Scandinavian source, possibly related to Old Swedish "pæna" meaning "to pound iron with a hammer." It originally referred to the pointed end of a hammer head. :D

My first tool was a very small ball peen hammer when i was still a toddler. When i was in my twenties many years later I seen it on my grandpa's tool bench. I immediately picked it up and he smiled and said do you remember that ... then he gave me the hammer, I still have it, very small with a metal handle built in. Very handy for certain esoteric things, like crafts.
Another thing about claw hammers is if you use one to pound on steel, you'l want to get a new one to use with nails. Apparently, claw hammers are softer or something like that and they loose grip if you ruin the head by pounding on harder stuff. I'm a wireman, and we use claw hammers for setting anchors and even pounding on concrete, when were not using our kleins for a hammer ... lol
Another bit of hammer porn .... if you search on youtube for UK Knappers forum, you'll bring up several videos of Brandon flintknappers using all different hammers, making gun flints. They were highly skilled. Apparently they were still making them into the 1940s somehow.
