BankerFox.A Infection

Hi, I have a friends laptop next to me at the moment. It seems to have the above infection which renders the internet connect ion useless.

Tried booting to safe mode and running SmitFraudFix, Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, & SUPERAntiSpyware FREE as recommended by McAfee but eh buggers still got a hold.


There's plenty on the net about this nasty, but has anyone found a successful method of clearing it - I'm having difficulty at the moment.

Thanks for the link Hops - no I haven't - have you?

The problem I have is I can't connect to the net with the laptop so anything I use has to be downloadable to a USB drive then connected across.

For the benefit of anyone doing a search at a later date, the only tool I found that cleared this issue was Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool found here

Given all the nasties it found, I think I'd start there in future.
