Does anyone know if the bar end weights from a different Beemer will fit on the F800GS?
I have been getting a lot of vibration through the twist grip since I put a 17 tooth pinion on the bike last summer. First my thumb goes 'dead', then my fingers start to ache, which then goes up into my elbow, and then into my shoulder. All before I get to work - 24 miles away.:blast
I have wrapped a strip of roofing lead around the bar end weight; held on with gaffer tape and the hand guard; and the vibes are gone:thumb2 - but pretty it isn't. So if anyone knows of a heavier bar weight that is a simple bolt-on job please let me know.
Many thanks.

Well having asked the question and reading through various threads on here, f800riders and others I have just ordered a set of anti-vibration weights from here: http://www.vibranator.com/street_bikes_s/23.htm
They tick all the boxes in that they are rather neat when fitted, are a straight swap for the OE ones, and are compatible with the TT hand guards.:thumb2
Once they arrive and are fitted I will post a report on what they are like, do they work, et cetera.
You ride careful now.

If the vibration only started when you changed the front sprocket I would be concerned to check the sprocket is secured correctly and is running true. If the vibration at the handlebars is enough to cause you to go to a lot of trouble to "mask" it then the vibration will still be within the bike and could cause other problems.

Okay so I received the Vibranator bar weights last week and fitted them on Friday before a trip up to Norfolk. Having done just over 180 miles on Saturday and now having done a couple of days commuting into London with the Vibranators I can safely say: By God They Work!
The numb hand and the elbow and shoulder problems are gone and the bars now vibrate less than they ever did with the standard front sprocket.:JB
The Vibranators were $90 plus $26 post from the good ol' USofA. According to the credit card bill that's a total of £75.45:D
Considering how well they damp out the vibrations that's a bargain of major proportions. Plus its a straight swap with the standard weights.
So now I'm ready for the short ride from Alaska to Ushaia: all I need is the time, the money, the organisation, the paperwork, the injections....
