Bar Ends made of cheese

I have rounded the allen key holes needed to take the bar ends off. :blast

It's an 1150GS 2001 flavour with ABS. I am trying to overhaul the throttle cables and distributor.

Can anyone tell me how to remove them now I have completely mashed them.

Guess you have to cut the screw off, there is no way to thread back the allen key part.
 
try hammering in a torq drive, that usually works :augie

Yeah +1. Had to do similar with the front caliper pin. The torque screw head rounded off and I managed to hammer in an allen key. Just the job so maybe try the torque head or a slightly larger allen key.

Have also undone such screws with a power drill set on unscrew (reverse) and a smallish drill bit that fits in the middle of the mashed hole. Lots of WD40 and lots of pressure on drill be careful though as drill bits break.

Also used an impact screw driver though I am uncertain as to whether the hammering loosened the screw or the impact screwdriver did it

I have an allen key that I bought donkeys years ago to adjust tappets on Ford Engines - never used it for that purpose but it has a decent handle on it and is made of real metal and it seems to be right size to fit mashed holes - I do not know its size but it appears that there are different sizes other than metric allen keys available which may be hammered in the mashed hole
 
Bit late now, you should have heated them a little to soften the Locktite.
 
It looks like you do for the choke cable. The screw holding the shroud on is partially hidden behind a ring of plastic, cunning.

Well - I did mine on the 1150, and certainly didn't remove the weights. The choke lever came off dead easy once I'd sussed where the hidden screw was, and it wasn't behind the bar-ends!
