I bought a pair of Aprilia Tuono mirrors off eBay for about £15 and then a pair of mirror adaptor mounts from Nippy Normans at £38 + p&p. The adaptor plates are stupidly expensive for what you get ( http://www.nippynormans.com/product...rror-adaptor-r1200rt-2010-to-2012-wun-4600055 ) but they do the job and Nippys appears to be the only place to get them. Be aware the thread they use is a M10 x 1.5 pitch. The M10 size is common to hundreds of motorcycle mirrors but the aprilia mirrors turned out to have a M10 x 1.25 pitch. Luckily I have a tap & die set so I was able to re-thread them (not ideal, but more than good enough for a mirror)
I'm not sure if its just Aprilia who are unusual in having a 1.25 pitch or Nippys mounts in having a 1.5 pitch, buts it worth bearing in mind when choosing / purchasing your mirrors
After all that (to be honest it was a 2 minute job in reality) I can say without doubt it was well worth doing. The bar mounted mirrors are in my opinion a 100% improvement on looking at my knuckles. Unfortunately this means the fairing mounted mirrors are largely redundant ( you could set them as blind spot mirrors I guess) and its crossed my mind whether to remove the glass and mechanism to see if I could convert them into small storage areas???
