Hi all,
Have owned my F800gs now since Sept 09.After about an hour of riding, I am experiencing a pain in my left shoulder, which starts to really burn unless I stop & get off the bike!I have the low seat option cause I only have a 29" inside leg.(short arse)! I was thinking of gettin some "bar risers" to lift the bars 20mm & thus changin the riding position.Has anyone tried these risers & do they make any difference to the comfort on long rides? Touratech claim in their catalogue that they do, even when in the sitting position!Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Chapperz. I have the same inside leg measurement and I have the TT risers too. The bike has to go back to BMW and I am selling the bits dropping them off as I go. I'm in London as of Monday night, will be in Cambridge tomorrow night (Tuesday) and perhaps Warwick en route to Manchester on Wednesday. Let me know if you are interested. You can try before you buy. cheers Jon. :beerjug:

Hi Jon,
Sorry to here the BM has to go. Fair play to you tho mate, it looks like you av had some good times on her. I have just ordered the Bar-Risers from TT.Only £15.00 + P&P! Hopefully they will sort out the shoulder aches. Thanks again. :)

I've got the TT bar risers fitted and they certainly put the bars in a better position for myself.

I've got the problem the other way, I'm 6'2" and found that when standing on the pegs i was leaning down to put my hands on the bars, this meant there was too much weight on the bars and it was difficult to control the bike - and it put me back out.

Fitted the risers - problems cured.

Hi Kev,
Sorry, quoted wrong price.Bar Risers arrived in the post thismorning with receipt & invoice. Total was £27.41 inc P&P.Can"t wait to fit em now. They come with instructions how to fit, but in the instructions it says to remove airbox cover, side cover & beak. What for? Can"t see any need to do that.I don"t think the cables should need re-routing, unless anyone else tells me any different.:thumb2

Got mine from "Nippies" about the same price:thumb2

no need to lengthen the cables or re-route them:thumb2

didnt notice that much of a difference until I sat on another 800 without risers :thumb2

better for me off roading:thumb2

Really glad I got them:thumb

I certainly didn't remove any of the panels to fit mine. I can understand that it would make access easier, but on balance it looked like too much work to put in to avoid a minor fiddle. Wasn't that difficult really.

Freeloaders right, you can release the bars and add the spacers without removing panels andd re-routing cables. Bit fiddly, but I'm far too lazy to follow written instructions - or remove panels.:D
