A quick question, I want to fit some risers, not much maybe 10-20mm straight up, what would you recommend and will I need to lengthen on cables etc.

Thanks in advance.

I added 20mm bar risers (SW Motech IIRC) to my 800GS, I didn't have to lengthen any of the cables, but I did rotate the levers around a bit, as the front brake line does get a bit tight when on full lock (can't remember which direction).

I think it might depend on which bike ( 800 or 650). I was about to buy some 20mm ones from Motorworks for my 650 twin, when the BM dealer here in France said they don't fit without having to change the front brake hose. I took his word for it.

Mine is the 800gs, so I hope they do, the blurb from Nippy says no other mods necessary, fingers crossed.

I've got the 20mm ones from Norman's on my 800GS, they were fine and needed no cable fiddling at all - I also rotated the bars very slightly forward, much more comfortable!

One thing to be aware of, I've got Barkbusters on mine, and a Puig screen, and on full lock, the handguards do touch the screen - only a bother when I'm putting the steering lock on to be honest, I need to periodically check the screen bolts to make sure they've not been jarred loose - lost one before I noticed that!!

I have them on My 650 twin and no problems all ok with no changes :nenau

Yep, fitted the with no problems, just waiting for the sump guard so I can get off road.
