Bargain..........1150GSA SE 2005 only £7850

Very shiny and that's not many miles for a nearly 6 year old bike. Strikes me as being a bit pricey all the same.
 
Must be considered a new bike that so for the price its got to be a worthwhile buy over a 1200!!
 
I really need to ride one of these to see what all the fuss is about...

Well JB will tell you they're the same as any other GSA.....but that's because he hasn't got an SE:P:D

I've had two SE's mainly because it was the very last of an era and both were very low mileage with the spec I wanted....apart from the brakes which I've changed.....oh and the seat, screen footrests erm etc. etc. etc. So,...

In standard form a GSA most definately isn't for me, a few changes and it becomes the only bike me and of course others will disagree;)

One thing I can say is that £10k would not buy this bike nor would a straight swop with a brand new £15k 1200:kissy2

What changes did you make to the brakes? Looks like most of the other things are those I've done to my standard 1150. I could just take them all off and bolt them on a new one. No, wait, I'm not supposed to be looking at this again :blast
 
Heated garage ???? the poor bloody thing will go into shock the first time its used:D:D:D:D
 
Problem with buying an old but low mileage bike is that it's still on old bike in a years time when you've got 12K on it.
So it's now valued the same as any other 14K 1150, but you've lost around an extra £3K
I've been offered a few bikes like this (not GS) with owners saying "it's like new". But it's not! It's a 6 year old bike!

Plus this ones been stored in probably the worst conditions possible - heated garage and never used. Cool and well ventilated is optimum.

How much would you pay for similar bike with 12K? Then add £500 for low mileage.

That assumes you're looking at it as a purchase where holding value is important. From my point of view I'm getting a virtually new version of something that simply isn't available any more and that, if I could afford it in the first place, I'd never sell, so residual value is meaningless to me really.

Unless you're very lucky and know a bloke who's brother's girlfriend's mate's boyfriend has had his sitting in a dusty shed and just wants to get rid of it quickly because he's short of money, then you're going to pay a premium because this is a classic and last of the breed.

I'd buy it if I could get the money together, no questions, I'd love one of these.

It's exactly the same spec as my bike, even down to the gearbox and Ohlins/Corbins..................only difference is the paint:P

I would want £8k for mine:blast
