Base/Mid-layers: Merino vs Outlast

Just a top spot the ice skin - if you’re of more generous proportions don’t buy white! Makes me look like a sleeping bag put into its stuff sack!

We’ve used ours a few times now and they really make a big difference, certainly up to 31C last weekend. They feel cool, but if there’s even a slight breeze it’s really noticeable.

I went for V neck as I hated the high collar version. The long sleeves were certainly beneficial. The leggings are great too - no more having to peel off the jeans

MERINO.

Buy from British business called EDZ, they are in Cumbria, do mail order, have had a couple of their long sleeve tops and a T-shirt. Good stuff, being wool, it has natural properties writhing preventing you from stinking under your arms for a few days before you need to wash the top. Thin M&S merino socks are great too.

Beware that moth will have a go at your merino, so when not in regular (almost daily) use, store it in a vacuum or ziplock bag.
