Luddite here. Well, normally I'm OK on computers but I'm clearly doing something wrong.
I am trying to let basecamp make me a route from St Malo to Apt (near Avignon). So, I put a waypoint in at St Malo and one in at Apt then opened the 'Create Route' box, dragged my start point and end point into the right spots and... it very kindly drew me a straight line between the two...
Now, I know that with a GS you should be able to go cross country...but...
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to put more waypoints in to make it follow roads rather than crows flying?
I'm sure there's a simple solution (and yes, I will be using a map when I go...)
Thanks for any help...

I am not an expert but I just put in two waypoints and did exactly the same as you and it came up with a normal route. this was in France. You certainly don't need more waypoints.
