Doing a quick oil change yesterday before a long-ish trip next weekend, one of the rear mounting rubbers came away from the sump. I can't see any signs of fixing it to the sump other than some form of adhesive.

So, I wiped the sump and the rubber bush as clean as I could, squirted with superglue, and pressed it back on. Seems to have help so far, but I haven't gone far enough r fast enough since to get the sump really hot.

Is this the orthodox method of fixing, or am I missing something obvious?

Any help gratefully received - I don't really wnt to have it flapping about or causing more damage away from home.

Thanks,

Robin.

The mounts are screwed into the sump -

If only one has gone i'd still ride it without any fear of it doing any damage.

Thanks. Couldn't find that picture anywhere on my CD-ROM!

Looks like what's happened is the metal bit at one end of the rubber block has come astray, leaving me holding the bush but with the thread only coming from one end. The bit left in the sump looked just like the sump to me'

The glue is holding strongly enough to allow me to torque up the nut (19Nm) and is showing no sign of shifting. So I'll keep an eye on it and order a new one.
