I do it on all my rebuilds,Mikey, why does it get a new clutch and gearbox rebuild if it had only done such low mileage?
New owner will have a great bike.I do it on all my rebuilds,
The clutch plate may have contamination,
The gearbox bearings might have been exposed to moisture,
Not worth the hassle if issues arise

Think the g/s tank is 18 litres, expect @ mid 40’s mpg.A few questions Mike. How big is the tank and what fuel economy would this get...so a roundabout way of saying 'what's the likely range'. I'm presuming parts are easy enough to come by? Warranty wise, presume it'll be a 'bring it back and I'll sort it' affair ? (Which is fine)
I've always fancied an old BM, currently bikeless (awaiting a moving in date for our new house) and wondering if a wayn of riding as I pass 60yrs old is to run and older and light bike as a main bike (4k a year perhaps) and run a £2k shitter like a VFR for everyday stuff ....![]()
