Rob has been asked about some trails that could be suitable
for the Baskerville Hall weekend
So we thought we would go and have a look around :D
I have not done this track for a while so there could be some surprises :augie

Rob got a bit carried away :D
If you look closely you can see his number plate ripped off and in the roost :blast

Didn't slow him down much mind you

This track proved to be a cracker .... well underused

With a quality gate :augie

Rob checking out it's suitability for the 1200's

Then we came across this

How deep was it ? I sent Rob to find out ( I used Rob's camera so he has the pics )

Looks not to bad on the 600 but it was a tricky one on the BM

Another good day on the trail ( que Robs pics :thumb2)
There's plenty of stuff around Clyro ...I am sure you boys will have a ball...Me and Rob did

3 times out in a week :D :D

Three rides in a week:clap..we were out four times plus one days lane clearing within seven days...too many lanes and not enough time, good on you:thumb

after a request from someone of importance on this site to lead the Baskerville weekend off road rideout we thought that it would be an excellent idea to reconnoitre some "interesting" lanes in the Clyro area

and so we did

I hadn't ridden the first lane and it did prove to be an experience

innocent looking at the start

a complete absence of valet parking

how deep ????

on the far side it would have been over the cylinders on the beemer

P1010057.jpg

and onto the next track, a 25 degree climb on loose surface with plenty of rocks to avoid, ahhhh memories of pig wrestling :D:D:D

P1010069.jpg

the track was still a little moist at the top

P1010071.jpg

ahhhh, the open road

A "tread lightly" policy will be insisted upon

a great day out

the hero of the day was my new heated jacket, if you haven't got one then spend some money, it was marginally above freezing on the way home and I was toasty warm, FABULOUS

Rob

It was the fault of madame Merlot and her friends Rioja and Chianti that stopped me playing. Oh and the fact that my road outside was still white in parts at 10.40 on Sunday.. and my alternator/heated_waistcoat is shite .. and I live further away than you two .. and , OK, I'm a lightweight:o

I like the look of that unused lane though, the XChallenge will murder it :thumb

Garry, if Rob needed a heated vest, the trails were probably not challenging enough... :augie

Top pics you two - as always! Thanks for sharing. :thumb2

I only needed the vest on the road sections, as if you didn't know:thedummy:thedummy

see you soon

Rob

Well done lads! Looks like you had a good day out.

Hope the riders of the Baskerville Hall Weekend appreciate your effort.

I know you both know the area well if you need a hand reccying lanes I could try my new toy out (KTM 640 Adventure, may need to change the tyres though!) I know the area a little bit and have previously helped set out a long distance trial for the Caerphilly club in the area.
