Anyone able to recommend a tried and known batch processing tool for photos. Got about 1200 or so, to work through from my trip to normandy this year and my trusty PSP, does them one at a time fine, but really need something faster.

I used to have a little program that came with an old cannon scanner which was fab, but cannot find the pesky disc since I last rebuilt the PC.

Cheers John .

Techi..

I have about 1200 plus 5mega pixel photos. I wish to reduce them down to about 800x600 size in jpeg format for displaying on a website and on here.

I used to have a program that, i could just browse the folder, select the source files, set the resolution, set the quality, size, naming pre or post fixes and file type and press "go"! Whalla.. done.

So want something nice and simple and easy to use basically.

try

picasa from google, it's pretty basic but will batch processing.

Batch processing

I do mine in Photoshop. In the file menu choose automate and then batch and it does the lot.

Do you mean full Photoshop or can you do it in Elements ?

I'am using Photoshop PS4 but earlier versions had the automate function. I don't know about elements but in PS it is under the file menu.
You can record various functions such as image size or may be sharpening in the Actions menu and then choose to batch process them with Automate.
