I have a Ctek XS800 charger but would like to charge the battery on my new 2015 GS through the auxiliary power socket. I've found a Ctek connector (cte-56263) on Amazon. Will this work ok ? :nenau

Don't do it, go get the ctek pigtail and put that on. Zero hassle that way and you get an un-governed power point for tyre pumps or whatever thrown in.

I used this connector (or pigtail, if you like) on my F800GS - it connects directly to the battery terminals and the socket on the other end gives you a traffic light readout of the battery condition.

And yes, you use it to charge the battery. Just arrange it so it can be tucked out of the way when not in use.

I've charged the battery on previous bikes direct to the battery. I was wanting to take the easy route through the auxiliary port. Just want to know if my charger is ok this route.

Charging through the aux socket isn't the easy route. I cant see anything on your charger that says it can charge thought the aux socket of a CAN vehicle. There is only a few that can.

The point of then pigtail is that it brings the battery terminals out in the open so any charger can connect and charge. After it is connected it's as easy if not easier than using the aux.
It is entirely up to you though.
