I have a o4 8000kms, 2 years old in September and battery was dead after riding the bike a week ago. Charged her up rode her two days no problem, then woke up today, with battery dead....? Anybody with any problems with the oem battery, or with battery drain problems...

Also the accessory plug with light a camping lamp, but will not heat an electric vest...which works well and tested on another bike? Any ideas?

Thanks for any info....

Your accessory socket will supply 5A max (mentioned in the handbook) so your jacket must have a higher demand. The only way around this is to install an additional socket that is wired directly from the battery - this can be wired so that it is under ignition key control if required.

A thread on battery/socket problems can be found here:

There are others so just do a search.

Hope this is of assistance.

Generally, once your battery has gone flat once its fairly knackered. I'd check that the alternator is supplying a voltage to charge the battery then get a new one. Then keep the thing on an optimate or similar.

Alternator problem.....

Sonds to me like your alternator my not be at its best. get it checked is my advice, this could also explaine the vest not working as the C-Bus system shuts down power to various parts of the system in order to provide power to charge teh bettery if required..... I'm assured!

bob.

When the battery dies - that's it - REPLACE IT.

I know ( I just did the same on sat. 70 Euro).

Had a the same problem with my battery. ok while running, but when left for more than two days not enough power to turn the engine. Replaced the battery but was using the bike every day for a couple of weeks.Left it for a couple of days, battery low again. Took it to the dealers and they ran some tests. turned out to be the alarm draining the battery. They replaced the alarm and battery and all is now well
