You're not alone in thinking that Jim. One of our bike magazine editors, who has a lot of classics which are therefore not used regularly, swears that using a trickle charger b**ered his batteries. He now "exercises" the batteries by running down to half charge every so often and then re-charging. Swears that this gives better results.

The battery has always been good for a start, even at 10°, and often below freezing.

At this time of year, the UK is never above 10° (assuming you are talking real degrees not F ones). That said, I've never had a battery problem either, even after 6 weeks parked up.
