hi all

i have a gel odyssey pc680 battery that is a year old in my r100gs that is keeped outside. the battery seems to loosing a charge overnight when its been frosty does that mean my battery is on its why out?

the bike seems to be charging ok
when i charge it over night it will hold anothe charge that i can use the bike.
it was fine over the summer when i left it for a day or to out side.

thanks sean.

Put an "Optimate" charger on the bike dude

i have it on a bike trickle charger to recharge it on the moring it goes flat. but cant leave it trickle charing over night as the bike is keeped to far way from the house.
thinking of fitting a lead acid battery in the bike tomrow to see if it hold its charge

I've got the same battery on a 100gs and I've been really impressed. After 3 months of snow last year, the bike outside under a cover, I took it off to charge, but it was still full. It must be about 5 years old. I think there must be something wrong with the one you have.
A broken regulator can fry a battery-I've done that before. The battery getting warm when in use is a clear sign.

I also have a PC680... No probs

Make sure you dont have a drain thats causing the problem:

"With the key in the OFF position and the negative cable removed from the battery (keeping the positive cable still attached) connect a test light between the negative battery post and the disconnected negative battery cable.

If its not a drain, then it might be earth related.Check the earth for the instrument cluster... is there one?
