Need a new one for my 2010 model.

Are any better than others, do you get what you pay for?

Recommendations please for any online suppliers.

Ta.

Thanks Greg, I had seen that exact site.........then I saw Odyssey batteries which would be about £25 more and just wondered if there was any significant difference.

The Exide is Gel and the Odyssey is AGM (Whatever difference that might make). Also the say it can be safely left for up to 2yrs from full charge without any harm. Would be good for me as mine has let me down after being left over winter and charged fortnightly.

I think I am answering my own questions here.....thanks anyway.

Battery.

Got an Odyssey on my RT. Very convincing the way it cranks it over. Recently forgot to plug my Optimate into the bike, 2 weeks later expected it to be flat or discharged enough to not crank it over but it cranked over as if it had been on charge. Bike is garaged but still cold cold cold..
Would recommend the Odyssey although there was something on here about Motobatt being very good.
AGM is Absorbed Glass Matting, i think, so no acid to spill if the bike falls over on your little adventures.:thumb2

Motobatt it is then, I know you can't collect from them but coincidentally they are only about 5 miles from me.

Thanks for the help. :thumb2

Just repaired drive line after 3 months of sitting outside. The Odyssey turned it over fine and it fired up - was not expecting it after sitting outside for 3 months.

Guys,

Interesting read. My R1100RT is about to come out of hibernation and it needs a new battery (dead in a day unless left on the Optimate). Was going to buy a Varta as they seem to last for years on my cars, but might give these MotoBatt a try. If anyone else has fitted one of these to their 1100RT could you give me the model number of the battery that will fit this bike?
Cheers in advance.
Seventies.

Yes it'll fit. But hell yes, it's tight.
I've fitted plenty of them. The one in my own 'R must have the battery box made to the 'tight' end of tolerances.
You can see the 'rust' on the casing where it's tight against the 'box:
