BATTERY

Hi guys
Looking for a bit of advice on the battery on my f800.
Thats it parked in the garage for the winter. I have 2 optimate chargers, i was told only to use a bmw or optimate 4 for my bike as it being a canbus system.
Is there any reason why i cannot disconnect the battery
From my bike any use my old optimate.
Any advice would be great

No. No reason at all not to do that.

As far as I am aware a non canbus charger will still be fine as long as you are using a specific power lead direct onto the battery and not using the din power plug ( in which case it will do nothing).

A non canbus charger, with any old lead, directly onto the battery, will be fine.

This can throw up the 'service' warning.

Yes the service light will come on when you re connect will need turning of with plug in computer
